Our Story

Why we built AthletesGoing2College

College softball recruiting education for families who want to get it right — built by a softball family, for softball families.

A softball athlete and her family at the field

We watched the college softball recruiting process up close and saw the same problem repeat across hundreds of families: talented athletes with real college potential sitting on the sidelines of their own recruiting journey — not because they lacked ability, but because nobody had ever given them a clear, honest roadmap for how the process actually works.

Recruiting information exists in scattered pieces across the internet — some useful, most generic, and almost none organized in a way that helps a sophomore softball player and their family know what to do next. We built AthletesGoing2College to be the resource we wished had existed when we were going through it ourselves.

Why I Built AthletesGoing2College

I’m the parent of four former college athletes. All four of my children experienced recruiting and earned the opportunity to play their sports in college. As a family, we lived through the excitement—but also the confusion, pressure, and uncertainty. At the time, we didn’t fully understand recruiting, so we relied heavily on our children’s coaches. Most coaches did their best, but their attention was often focused on top-level prospects and colleges where they already had relationships. Those schools were not always the best academic, athletic, financial, or personal fit for every player.Families also had very few reliable resources. Many believed their athlete needed to join an expensive national-level team to have a realistic chance of being recruited. That experience inspired AthletesGoing2College.I began building recruiting websites for my children and their fellow players. Each profile served as an online résumé where coaches could review the athlete’s academics, statistics, videos, schedule, and contact information. I created more than 30 profiles—and every athlete went on to play their sport in college. In 2025, I rebuilt AthletesGoing2College using more than 25 years of experience creating and managing websites for youth and travel sports organizations. My goal was to build the recruiting system I wish our family had: education, a professional profile, college research tools, communication guidance, and a clear action plan.Coaches and parents remain important, but athletes should not be passengers in their own recruiting journey. AthletesGoing2College helps players take ownership, create opportunities, and find the college that is truly right for them.

Stand Out. Get Noticed. Get Recruited.

Our mission

Educate, equip, and empower student-athletes to take ownership of their recruiting journey

We're not a massive recruiting corporation, and not a generic database where profiles disappear into a list of thousands. We're an educational recruiting resource built to guide student-athletes and their families step by step through the entire journey — from freshman year through commitment, signing, and life on campus.

Recruiting is a process, not a moment

Athletes who understand the full timeline make better decisions at every stage.

Education eliminates confusion

Most recruiting mistakes happen because families didn't know what they didn't know.

Preparation builds confidence

Athletes who arrive prepared act differently — and coaches notice.

Organization creates opportunity

The athlete with a clear profile and a consistent outreach plan gets responses. The one without it doesn't.

Honesty and integrity matter

We tell families the truth about how recruiting works — even when the truth is harder than the sales pitch.

What AG2C provides

Professional recruiting profiles

One clean, easy-to-share link that puts bio, stats, video, academics, and references in front of coaches around the clock.

Parent education & support

Because recruiting is a family journey, and parents who understand the process support their athletes better without taking over.

Commitment & post-signing guidance

What a verbal commitment and the financial aid agreement actually mean, what happens between signing and move-in day, and how to arrive on campus ready.

What makes AG2C different

Education and ownership — not mass-exposure databases

Education before everything else

Most platforms are built around visibility — get an athlete's name in front of as many coaches as possible and hope something sticks. That approach skips the most important step. Athletes who understand how recruiting actually works — what coaches evaluate, when to make contact, how to follow up, what an offer really means — end up in the right program for the right reasons. Education isn't a supplement to the process; it's the foundation of it.

Athletes lead their own journey

College coaches recruit athletes, not parents and not services. An athlete who sends their own emails, makes their own calls, and shows genuine initiative is sending a signal about their character that no service can replicate on their behalf. We build athletes who can run their own process — because that's what coaches respect and respond to.

Profiles that actually work

Every athlete builds a professional online profile — one organized, easy-to-share link that gives coaches immediate access to everything they need to evaluate a recruit, at any hour, from any device, on their timeline.

  • Academics — GPA, test scores, grad year, major

The bigger picture

College softball recruiting is the goal. What it builds in the athlete is the point.

The recruiting process, done right, does more than get an athlete a roster spot. It teaches them to set goals and pursue them systematically, to communicate professionally with adults who have real decision-making authority, to handle rejection and stay the course, to trust a process that doesn't produce results on a convenient timeline, and to advocate for themselves.

Those aren't skills that expire on signing day — they're the skills that define how they perform in college, in a career, and in a life. We're here to help athletes turn a dream into a plan — and a plan into reality.

AI content & image transparency

AthletesGoing2College may use AI-generated images in certain website pages, blog posts, social media content, and promotional materials. These visuals are created for demonstration and educational purposes only.

Unless clearly labeled, AI-generated images do not represent actual student-athletes, recruiting results, scholarship offers, or college commitments. We remain committed to honesty, transparency, and integrity in all representations of our services and outcomes.
